The Calgary Branch of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers’ Association recognizes the achievement of exam students in these ways:
1) ARMTA Calgary Recital and Awards (ACRA): This is a recital and award presentation for students in all disciplines. Scholarship cheques will be presented to the students who received the three highest marks in each discipline category. These students may be invited to perform at ACRA. The fourth highest mark in each Piano category will also receive an Honourable Mention scholarship. Those recipients will be invited to perform at OSR.
2) Outstanding Student Recital (OSR): This recital is for those applicants who do not receive a scholarship at ACRA, but their level of achievement is deserving of recognition. A jury panel will award scholarships at the end of the recital. The panel is comprised of three teachers who do not have students performing and every effort is made to have jurors reflect the different music disciplines. For more information, visit https://armta-calgary.com/programs/osr-outstanding-student-recital/
3) Advanced Theory: Students who received the highest marks on advanced theory exams (level 9 and higher) will be presented with a scholarship cheque at ACRA.
4) Graduate Ceremony: Diploma graduates of the Royal Conservatory of Music or Conservatory Canada are invited to attend ACRA and each will receive a certificate recognizing their achievement.
