Music Marathon is an annual fundraising event sponsored ARMTA Calgary Endowment Fund. The event’s main purpose is to raise money for scholarships and programs for ARMTA students of all abilities. As well, the event showcases the benefits of taking lessons from a registered music teacher and provides students with an opportunity to share music with the community at large.

Music Marathon showcases people of ALL levels and disciplines who are students of ARMTA Calgary teachers. It is also a major fundraiser for ARMTA Calgary. The money raised at Music Marathon goes to the Endowment Society of the Calgary Registered Music Teachers – the charitable society under the banner of ARMTA Calgary Branch. The mission of the society is to raise money to fund the scholarship programs of the Calgary Branch. Our scholarship programs support many deserving music students. Additionally, the Endowment Society hosts and funds competitive projects for students of all levels and disciplines. Prize money for these projects also comes from the Endowment Society.

Marathon Details

Students are required to collect pledges – there is no minimum amount but they are encouraged to put in some effort as there will be prizes for collecting the most pledges, the largest pledge amount, early-bird performances, and more.

Teachers will register their studio and indicate their preferred time slot between 9am-5pm. Time slots are 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes. A performance schedule will be created based upon teacher requests as far as possible. Registration is open only to current ARMTA Calgary members.
