The Calgary Branch of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers’ Association recognizes the achievement of students in three ways:
1) Honours Recital: This is a recital and scholarship presentation. Scholarships are given to students with the highest marks in their category. Winners of scholarships perform at the Honours Recital.
2) Outstanding Student Recital: This is a recital for those applicants to the Honours Recital who did not win a scholarship but their level of achievement is deserving of recognition. A jury panel will award scholarships at the end of this recital.
3) Graduate Ceremony: Held as part of the Honours Recital, this is a ceremony to acknowledge a student’s culmination of music studies with the granting of a music diploma. A Certificate and letter are given to the graduates.
Students will first be considered for the Honours Recital; those students not selected to perform at the Honours Recital will automatically be selected to perform at the Outstanding Student Recital to be held Saturday February 9, 2019 at St. David’s United Church. Please note that students must apply for the Honours Recital in order to be considered to play at the Outstanding Student Recital.
Honours Recital Application Deadline: Midnight Thursday November 1st 2018
